The Plum Street Project
The Plum Street Project
Dakota Hospital Foundation, in partnership with Sanford Vermillion, collaborated with the completion of the “Plum Street Project”. As patients and employees had shared safety concerns for pedestrians crossing Plum Street to the main entrance of the medical center, Sanford Vermillion and DHF reviewed options with the City of Vermillion for improvements. The result was increasing the visibility of pedestrians to motorists on Plum Street by removing diagonal parking spots while maintaining accessibility. The goal for improved safety has been achieved.
